Victory AC Club Member of the Month
Current Victory AC Member of the Month for March 2016 is Cathy Beresford
Victory AC is a club that recognises the success of every runner, no matter what events they enter, long or short or the times that they achieve, be it slow or fast.
We also have many members that contribute to the club in so many different ways, either through volunteering or supporting events.
To celebrate the achievements and contributions of our members, Victory AC has a 'Club Member of the Month' award, which is presented on the training session on the last Thursday of each month.
The recipient receives a certificate with a citation describing their success or contribution.
More details and previous award recipients are on the Club Member of the Month page
'Victory 5k to 10k' running programme
Victory AC prides inself on being a 'club for all'!
We have members of all running abilities and the overriding attitude is that we are all sharing our enjoyment for the same thing.
We do have members who have won medals at International events and competed in Team GB, and we also have members who just come along for the companionship of running with others and to keep fit. With the full range of runner in between!
Several of our current membership have taken up running after completing 'new runner' course or followeed the NHS promoted 'Couch to 5k' scheme.
Victory AC recognise the benefit of these schemes. As we are currently coming to the end of a 5k course, we are delighted that our coaching team will be providing a nine week course aiming at runners who want to successfully complete 10k (6.2 miles).
This is aimed at individuals who can run 5k but not 10k, allowing them to feel confident to undertake the D-Day 10k on the 5th June and/or The Hayling Billy 5 mile race on 15th June.
It will take place on Tuesday evenings, 6.30pm - 7.30pm from Havant Leisure Centre (the same time and place as the main Victory AC Club run) starting 5th April.
There is no cost,
though all participants
must be members of Victory AC for the duration
Membership is just £16 pa,
and membership forms can be downloaded from here.

What We Do
As a club we meet at Havant Leisure Centre. On a Tuesday at 6:30PM, for an informal 'let's go for a run' type session and on Thursday at 6PM for an organised training session, normally taken by a SEAA qualified coach.
We compete in a wide range of on and off road events.
Ranging from traditional road races such as the Stubbington 10K and the Great South Run to the wet and boggy delights of both the Hampshire Cross Country League and 'Today's Runner' Cross-Country League.
During the summer months we organise a number of 'handicap' races designed to give all members of the club regardless of ability the chance to compete in a competition that is designed to be as even as possible.
Who We Are
Victory Athletic Club (VAC) is a small, independent friendly running club.
Formed in 1982 we are an active club, offering members varied training sessions and internal competitions, as well as opportunities to run for the club in regional team events.
The Club is based in Havant, near Portsmouth on the south of England, we have a membership of nearly 250.
In additional to training and races we also have a number of social events throughout the year, which non-running family and friends come along to as well.
Bourne to run!
Have you entered Bournemouth Marathon Festival on 1/2 October 2016?
Stunning sea views, fresh crisp clean air and the very best of Bournemouth and Poole is on show as the South Coast is home to an international marathon.
This is the perfect natural environment for 'running as it should be'. Be a part of it!
The Bournemouth Marathon Festival brings many distances together in one unique festival of running.
The course is fast and picturesque, making it a must-do for anyone looking to set a PB. With 6 races to choose from there is something for all abilities, so if you don’t feel up to running a full marathon, then why not enter the half marathon, Supersonic 10K or Supernova 5K?
The Supernova 5K is now open to children too, and with two different junior races to chose from, why not enter now and get the whole family involved!
